Alternative is the 3rd Beginner Extra stage in Super Monkey Ball 2 (8th in Super Monkey Ball Deluxe) and the 48th Ultimate stage without continues.

In Story Mode, it appears as World 2-10 in Super Monkey Ball 2 and as World 2-18 in Super Monkey Ball Deluxe. It is given a 6 out of 10 difficulty rating.

Description[]

The level is made up of one diagonal platform, eight square platforms, and one small, goal platform. There is a fast-forward switch on the diagonal platform, but there is no play switch. When the level is played, the square platforms will move in and out of formation, with the sides and corners moving at different times.

Goal Tutorial[]

This goal is considered slightly easy. Head onto the diagonal platform to the end. Do not press the fast-forward switch. Wait for a square platform to approach you, and get onto it. Cross onto the platform closest to the goal. Wait for it to approach the goal. Then, head into the goal.

Faster Strategy[]

If you want to reach the goal faster, press the fast-forward switch. The platforms will move twice as fast, and it will be harder to keep your balance on them, so push much harder on the control stick when the platform on which you are is moving to stay on course. Also, push the control stick earlier when switching between square platforms.

Changes in Banana Mania[]

While the Story Mode version of this level is unchanged in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, the Challenge Mode version now features a different movement pattern for the platforms, where instead of the stage alternating between the side and corner platforms moving out, the cycle now includes all of the platforms moving outward every third step. Overall, this makes the stage take longer to complete. This also means that the two versions of the stage are no longer identical in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania.

Trivia[]

  • In the Challenge Mode version in Banana Mania, there is an erroneously placed banana underneath the starting platform.[1] It was intended to be on one of the moving platforms, evidenced by the banana moving in sync with the only moving platform that has no banana on it. It is impossible to collect without falling out, making the stage impossible to get a perfect clear on.
    • Despite the erroneously placed banana being absent in the Story Mode version, the same moving platform still lacks a banana.
