The logo of Amusement Vision.
Amusement Vision was the subsidiary of Sega that made Monkey Ball, Super Monkey Ball, and Super Monkey Ball 2 for the Super Monkey Ball series, in addition to multiple other games, such as F-Zero GX. The company was formed in 2000 and merged its operations back into Sega on 1 July 2004.
Appearances in Super Monkey Ball games[]
The logo appeared in multiple locations in the earlier Super Monkey Ball games, though this was phased out in later games, following the merger. While Super Monkey Ball Deluxe preserved the logo, Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania removed all instances of it. The logo appears in the following places:
- The floor AV Logo features the logo as the basis for its design.
- The Amusement Vision logo is underneath the rotating structure in the background of Sky High.
- The Amusement Vision logo is on a submarine in the background of Underwater.
- The Amusement Vision logo can be seen etched into the ground near the clothesline in the background of Bubbly Washing Machine.
- The stage Created By in Super Monkey Ball 2 also features the AV logo.
- The Amusement Vision logo is on top of the ramp in Monkey Target 2 and DX.
Successors[]
After its merger in 2004, Sega's New Entertainment R&D Department was considered Amusement Vision's successor. That department would be referred to Sega CS1 from around 2009 until sometime starting in 2012, when the name Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio started to be used to refer to some of the games the department produced.
