A continue in the Super Monkey Ball series is when you lose all your lives and continue the game with another set of lives in the Main Game. However, this also resets the score and bananas and jeopardizes the opportunity to access the Extra Stages and/or Master.
In Super Monkey Ball and Super Monkey Ball Jr.[]
You get five continues at the start of the game, but you can get more continues by getting 2500 play points after unlocking all mini games. You can get up to ten continues before unlocking an unlimited amount.
In Super Monkey Ball (N-Gage)[]
You get five continues at the start of the game, but you can only get up to ten continues by getting 2500 play points.
In Super Monkey Ball 2[]
You still get five continues, but you don't get any more with Play Points. Instead, you can get lives with 500 play points for each life after all the unlockable party games are unlocked. You can get up to 99 lives by getting a total of 48,000 points.
In Super Monkey Ball: Touch & Roll[]
There are no continues in this game if you run out of lives.
In Super Monkey Ball Adventure[]
You have five continues, but you can't purchase extra continues or lives even if you play the game more.
In Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz[]
You get three continues at the start of the game, but like Super Monkey Ball, you can get more continues by completing the individual difficulties. You can get up to nine continues before getting an unlimited amount.
Other Games[]
Starting with Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, you have infinite continues at the start of the game, meaning you can continue as many times as you want until you decide to quit.
In Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz[]
You have infinite continues as mentioned above. Quitting during gameplay and starting from the world on which you left off still counts as using a continue.
