Spiky is the 28th Advanced floor in Monkey Ball and Super Monkey Ball, as well as the 57th Advanced stage in Super Monkey Ball Deluxe. It also appears as the 97th Ultimate stage with continues and the 117th without continues.
In Story Mode, it appears as World 6-5 and is given a 4 out of 10 difficulty rating.
Description[]
This stage involves a semi-long, semi-thin pathway leading to the goal. This path, however, has two walls beside it, each with spikes evenly distributed along them. The walls take turns going to their side of the bridge, similar to Twin Attacker. The player must position themself in between the spikes as they attack them, which requires proper timing.
Goal Tutorial[]
Since the time limit on this floor is very lenient for it's length, there won't be much of a penalty for taking the floor steadily, one spike at a time. However, it isn't good to wait for more than one movement in between each spike, as, one, this will mean that you will lose your momentum and, two, the spikes are not parallel to each other, meaning that waiting for more than one movement could result in a fall out.
Trivia[]
- A sound effect plays each time the spiked walls hit the sides of the pathway in Monkey Ball and Super Monkey Ball. This was removed in Super Monkey Ball Deluxe and onwards.
- In Banana Mania, jumping into or onto one of the spikes can result in the player gaining a large amount of vertical momentum.
