Story[]

It starts on Jungle Island, where on the hottest day of the year the Super Monkey Ball team have decided to have a barbeque.
~Narrator

Jungle Island - Part 1[]

AiAi, MeeMee, Baby, and GonGon are enjoying a barbeque on Jungle Island when suddenly, the team takes notice that an air glider is flying out of control overhead in the sky, eventually crashing on Distant Island. The alarm bells of the Tree Palace are ringing, alerting danger. The barbecued bananas will have to wait as the Super Monkey Ball team heads over to the Tree Palace to talk to the king.

King Junjun, at the team's arrival, explains to them the prince of Monkitropolis and the princess of Kongri-la have both disappeared and has heard rumors they may be on Jungle Island. He is being threatened with dire consequences by both kingdoms if the two are not returned to their homelands and tasks the player with finding the royal runaways, keeping close attention to any clues heard throughout the island through missions for the fact they may be in disguise. When the bells are heard again, the team will be summoned back to the palace.

Jungle Island - Part 2[]

The alarm bell! We'd better head back to the Palace!
~Player

Prince AbeABE and Princess Dee-Dee are found out of disguise and accused of spreading sorrow around Jungle Island and attracting the Naysayers, and AiAi and the group are tasked with escorting them home straightaway. However, in the argument of the situation, AbeABE and Dee-Dee declare their love for each other, and the new task is to travel the four kingdoms to organize their wedding that will unite Monkitropolis and Kongri-la from their feud.

Following this cutscene, Future AiAi will appear at the Tree Palace and give you chants to teleport to Zootopia, Moonhaven, and Jungle Island.

Moonhaven - Part 1[]

What are you doing out here? Be careful, the automatons are all wound up! All Little'uns are supposed to report to Ru'fus the Foreman down in the engine room and that includes you!
~Eee'nee

The player reports to Ru'fus the Foreman, as protocol for all Little'uns, and is invited to the wedding of AbeABE and Dee-Dee. Ru'fus dismisses the team, as the proposition sounds too outrageous and they are Little'uns, who aren't good for much. He explains he cannot leave the city while the automaton monsters are threatening the citizens and has Big-un work to do, making sure the city stays hidden in the clouds.

Moonhaven - Part 2[]

This is Foreman Ru'fus, all Engineers report to the winding room immediately!
~Foreman Ru'fus

Ru'fus summons the Super Monkey Ball team to the winding room, and reluctantly admits he needs their help. All of the city's Big-uns are exhausted, having collapsed or gone to sleep, and he is the only one left working. He asks the player to gather anyone that can help keep the machine running, including Little'uns, and is impressed at how useful they can really be once the mission he gives to the player is complete. After the Little'uns take over the job, Ru'fus accepts the invitation to the wedding.

In an epilogue cutscene, it is revealed that the automatons were actually in Moonhaven to help the city, and all is joyful as the Big'uns learn they don't have to work so hard as they had to to fight them anymore.

Zootopia - Part 1[]

Welcome to Zootopia? Ha! If only you were! Time was the children cried when they had to leave, now they're crying to get out. Park's not been the same since Fat Cat came in and took over from Ma and Pa d'Kee. Only interested in making money Fat Cat is. It's all automated now and that's the problem. The rides never stop! They've been in the duckshoot for six months. Waaaaaaaaaaah! Somebody needs to shut those rides down. Somebody needs to climb to the top of Fat Cat's control tower and get to the bottom of this.
~Cre d'Pee

The player is introduced to Zootopia by Cre d'Pee, who explains how the park has now been automated and are run by robotic operators to where the rides never stop and visitors aren't having fun anymore. Most are trapped and are unable to get out. Missions in the park include stopping rides and rescuing parkgoers so they can go home.

Zootopia - Part 2[]

[Player name], I've found the key to the gate, come back and see me inside Fat Cat.
~Cre d'Pee

Cre d'Pee alerts the player that he's found the keys to the gate blocking higher access in Fat Cat's tower. Once meeting him at the gate, the player will climb up the tower's ducts and pipes to get to the top to Fat Cat's control room. Upon meeting Fat Cat, the Super Monkey Ball team demands he shuts down Zootopia, but Fat Cat insists everyone's happy. The team, along with Cre d'Pee, shuts off the power to Zootopia themselves through puzzles and switches.

Once the power is off, Fat Cat explodes, revealing that he was just a robot. Ma and Pa d'Kee reveal themselves to the team, admitting they made Fat Cat to run Zootopia more efficiently, reading visitor demographics and only allowing them to leave when they've had the right amount of fun, and the readers by Fat Cat say everyone is happy. MeeMee explains how joy cannot be measured, only felt.

Upon meeting the crowd at the Main Gate and learning that Fat Cat is no more, the visitors decide to stay at Zootopia to have a genuinely fun time.

Monkitropolis[]

Stay alert citzen, monsters are loose in the city tonight! They're hungry and for a monster there's nothing more delicious than a piece of tail! If you are scared you can get to higher ground around the noise factory by boarding the monkey bus if it is not locked down. Try to also avoid the noise factory outlets that will blow you clean across the city! They're supposed to keep the monsters out, hmm... maybe they have a blockage.
~NikNIK

NikNIK introduces the player to Monkitropolis, where, this evening, there are "monsters" on the loose in the city. The noise factory's sound outlets may not be working properly in keeping the "monsters" out. Bran'ran, who runs the noise factor, explains every citizen of Monkitropolis makes as much noise as possible to keep them away, and the player assists him in realigning the factory pipes to improve the noise the factory produces by making it 50% louder.

Upon meeting King MonMON and Queen FeeFEE, the Super Monkey Ball team explains to them that Prince AbeABE is on Jungle Island, and that he is to be wed to Princess Dee-Dee of Kongri-la. MonMON scoffs at the revelation, saying that under Monkitropolis law it is forbidden for a monkey to marry a "monster". At the team's confusion, GonGon tells AiAi that Dee-Dee didn't look like a monster to him, but MonMON reassures him that monsters are crafty, eating monkeys from the inside out and hiding their faces under a monkey's skin, which sickens GonGon. MonMON explains that Kongri-la used to be considered a part of Monkitropolis and should be still under rights, but it has let monsters into the city, undoing the great things Monkitropolis strives to do. MeeMee suggests talking to these "monsters", but MonMON tells the team there is no reasoning with them. They hear a complaint to keep the noise down, to which MonMON dismisses.

Following the exchange, Queen FeeFEE gives the player a permit to the docks and meet with Bran'ran outside to launch Robochimps to the Kongri-lan atoll to harvest bananas, as the monsters stole the sun and therefore the only place they are able to grow. The Noise Factory is run on banana oil, and without the supply it needs for fuel it will shut down and the monsters will overrun the city.

Kongri-la[]

Welcome to Kongri-la! Huh? Oh, the mask!
~Jeck-jeck

Following the team's walk into the Kongri-lan ruins, they are greeted by the "monsters". However, they turn out just to be Kongri-lans in masks, to the team's relief. Jeck-jeck explains in his missions they wear the masks to block out the loud noise blaring from Monkitropolis. In addition to the consequences of the noise, they had to move underground and tie down the sun in an attempt for warmth.

Upon meeting King Kon-kon and Queen Cha-cha, the Super Monkey Ball team explains to them that Princess Dee-Dee is on Jungle Island, and that she is to be wed to Prince AbeABE of Monkitropolis. Kon-kon reacts the same way as MonMON - it is forbidden for a monkey to marry a monster, implying Kongri-lans see Monkitropolans the same way they do. Suddenly, they hear the same demand to keep the noise down as before, and the two rooms keeping each king and queen swing together and combine the yin-yang structure. MonMON and Kon-kon face each other in masks, accusing the other of being a monster.

In frustration, AiAi erupts in anger and rips off the masks of each king, shaming them for putting their beliefs of made-up monsters before their own children. The team preaches unity to them, and MonMON and Kon-kon agree to work together to reunite their kingdoms. The royalty is invited to the wedding of AbeABE and Dee-Dee, in which they accept.

In a final mission in Monkitropolis, due to the now-muted noise, NikNIK calls upon the help of the player to round up the monsters that are running rampant in the city. Once the mission is accomplished, he sees that the "monsters" are actually monkeys, and believes it is the start of something better for the city.

Finale[]

There's gonna be a wedding!
~MeeMee

Bongbong needs help in ringing the bells to announce the wedding of AbeABE and Dee-Dee in his mission at the top of the Tree Palace in Jungle Island. Once this mission is accomplished, the wedding commences, with everyone who was invited formally and by message from Pospos in attendance. AbeABE and Dee-Dee are officially wed, and joy is brought back to the five kingdoms.

Epilogue[]

What a long day it's been!
~Baby

Baby is exhausted from the long day. Future AiAi appears, telling him it's time to go home. He finally reveals himself to be AiAi from the future to the Super Monkey Ball team, to present AiAi's astonishment. Future AiAi tells the team they made a promise - with AiAi's bravery, GonGon's strength, MeeMee's wisdom, and Baby's friendship. He showcases the monkey's balls, which are actually magic energy balls, and claims it's not the ball that's super, but the monkey inside. As he takes back these balls, he reveals to AiAi and GonGon that the two invent them in the future, in a company named AiGon Inventions. With this conclusion, Baby returns home to the future with his father.
