Announcement Edit

SEGA's announcement comes weeks after rumors about a new Super Monkey Ball title, Tabegoro, was trademarked back in May and eventually leaked on a Taiwanese rating board in July. On the 16th of July, a trailer was released officially by SEGA.

New features Edit

Most of the same content is taken from Banana Blitz with enhanced graphics, including the following:

  • 100 single-player levels
  • 10 multi-player mini games
  • Online leaderboards
  • An all-new Decathalon mode, which challenges players to complete 10 mini games in a row.
  • Character costumes (C-AiAi, W-MeeMee, A-Baby, F-GonGon, P-YanYan, R-Doctor)
  • Sonic the Hedgehog is a playable character.[1] Playing as him switches bananas into rings.

Party Games Edit

Banana Blitz HD features ten of the fifty Party Games from Banana Blitz[2], including only 1 classic (that being Monkey Target):

The game received mixed reviews averaging a Metacritic score of 62 for the PS4 version [3], a 62 for the Switch version [4], and a 72 for the Xbox One[5]. While many critics praised the improved controls, complaints were raised at it’s lackluster minigames, boss battles, and overall lack of content.
