Tako is the boss of the 5th world, Pirates Ocean, in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (HD).

Description

Tako is a giant octopus. He is on a large, circular platform. He will spray ink at the player and use his tentacles to try to knock off the player. There will also be waves coming every once in a while that will throw the player off course if the player does not jump over them. There are also mini octopuses beside him.

Boss Battle Tutorial

In order to defeat him, you must avoid his tentacles and mini octopuses to reach and hit the back of his head. After three hits, he will retreat into the water. When he hops back onto the platform, he will create a wave. Jump over the wave in order not to fall into the ocean. Be careful as he also sprays ink onto the screen. Repeat this process until he is defeated.

Changes in Banana Blitz HD

Tako can now jump out from a significantly different location in the water than from where he crawled. His tentacles also deal more knockback to the player. Additionally, the wave that sweeps across the stage is now a 3D modeled water wave rather than a 2D splash effect that moves forwards.
