Totalitarianism is the 9th Advanced stage in Super Monkey Ball 2 and the 28th Advanced stage in Super Monkey Ball Deluxe. It also appears as the 68th Ultimate stage with continues and the 88th without continues.
In Story Mode, it appears as World 2-9 in Super Monkey Ball 2 and as World 2-15 in Super Monkey Ball Deluxe. It is given an 8 out of 10 difficulty rating.
Description[]
This stage has a long, flat floor with poles on it. These poles contain rings that fall down and are capable of pushing you through the floor of the stage. There is a play switch and a fast-forward switch.
Goal Tutorial[]
To get to the goal, it is recommended to activate the play switch as it is much harder to beat it on fast-forward. From here, proceed in the general direction of the goal while staying away from the poles, so you don't get hit by the rings. Roll and stay at bananas as they are safe spots. Repeat this pattern until you make it to the goal.
Glitch[]
In Banana Mania, a fairly severe glitch occurs when touching the ring on the second to last pole on the left. Doing so will warp the player, either up, down or diagonal, depending on where it is touched, leading to some unusual results. [1] In some cases it can even launch the player upwards. This appears to be because the mechanic of the rings pushing the player through the floor when they slam down appears to be hard-coded in this game, with the rings literally teleporting the player below the stage when making contact with their undersides. This effect was apparently programmed incorrectly for this one ring, causing these results.
Trivia[]
- For unknown reasons, this stage is rerated a 6 out of 10 difficulty rating in Super Monkey Ball Deluxe. It is the only stage from Super Monkey Ball 2 to be rerated in Super Monkey Ball Deluxe.
